Teana:
can I accompany my partner as a dependent?

Sorry, I didn't understand this question...

Teana:
I worked as a kindergarten teacher, is it helpful me to find good job?

I'm afraid, no... working in a kindergarten in Latvia, at first, requires knowledge of the Latvian language. Also, if you don't have the Latvian education in this area, I doubt your previous (foreign) experience would help you to get the similar job...

As I know, Turība is in TOP20 of all Latvian universities rating, so it's quite possible you get the right education there. Also as I've heard, Latvian employers respect diplomas from this institution.

As about getting the job, I'd recommend you to read this thread first, all pages. I hope your question is already answered many times and well explained.

Do you have any kind of experience or practice, and if so, in which areas?

If you don't know Latvian, I doubt you could get a well-paid job easily. In general, mostly all middle-level jobs in Latvia are not paid well by the moment... It all mostly depends on your own activities and wish to build a career.

I think you need to study this thread's above messages, also topics like this or this. This question was widely discussed earlier. In short, you're right that you must know Latvian language and get a proper degree to qualify for the certain work, because if you don't know it, you won't be able to understand documentation, co-workers etc. I'm not sure if your Brititsh certificates would work if you couldn't communicate.

All in all, Latvia is in the big need for high level specialists, but don't be prepared for high level salaries here. Local specialists often leave this country for better life and money, because here the level of prices and salaries doesn't correspond to the overall level of life. So I'm just wandering what is your truly purpose to come and work here

I dont know what kind of job opportunities are there in lativia.... But knows one thing that where population is just 2.2 million, there are many opportunities for doing business... I am planning for masters in lativia... And had more then 6 years experience in textile, petrochemicals and many mfg. Sectors.... Wish if nothing works... Then surely my experience will be useful in future...

Any suggestion from your side mr/miss xxxxx???

Hello,

I will be enrolling in RTU for a masters this coming January and am wondering about working while studying. I already have a masters in Project Management (from Sri Lanka through a UK university), but my expertise is on Media and Travel writing mainly. I would really appreciate it if you can let me know the best way to go about finding a job and how plausible it is...

Thanks a lot

I suppose, you were meaning: there are not many opportunities for doing business for such population Actually, you are wrong about the number as well, right now in Latvia lives less than 2 millions. Official statistics say about 1,9 mln, but actually, they also count those who swapped the country for Europe/UK/Ireland/Germany and other countries, so this number could be actually about 1,6 mln.

I've heard that in Daugavpils, a few years ago has been opened the textile fabrics. However I suppose it already is packaged with all stuff. As I know, many local professionals of your specifics could not find jobs. So if you don't Latvian or at least Russian, your skills combined with English are not truly useful in this country. Besides of this fabrics, I didn't hear about major companies in such area present in Latvia. May be just small and local ones.

Writing? Did you mean you were "working" as a blogger?

The best way to find a job, is to have relatives, friends or colleagues in the good job and when they could recommend you to the heads of the company, if they look for someone.

You could also check Latvian websites like cv.lv or workingday, but if your skills are just about English, you have to spend much more time in finding a proper job than if you'd know Latvian + Russian at least.

Above this thread, you already will find answers to your questions regarding job opportunities.
