Latvia Beer Fest 2011 + Miss Latvia Beer Fest Contest

The First Ever Latvia Beer Fest took place at September 3rd-4th of 2011 in the very center of the Old Riga, near Swedish gates.

Ok, Germany has its Octoberfest, and any other respectable country with beer traditions just should have it, too. Despite of the crisis time, this nice idea come up nicely!

Besides of the top Latvian beer producers (which were more than 15 present), there was also some beer present from Belgium and Germany. In total, visitors drank out about 8266 liters of beer.

If you wanted to spend a very sunny Sunday in a good mood, this fest was the right place to move. So I did.

There was a lot of traditional foods and drinks present, which would allow you to spend the whole day for quite smart cash. Mostly everywhere, 0,5 L of beer costed about 1 Lat (it's much cheaper then elsewhere in the center of Riga). Spending about 2-3 Lats for food, you could also have a very concentrated dinner.

One of the most remarkable kitchens was a "car kitchen", and many people were curious to see how the "twisted potatoes" comes out. Right on the walking street, there was prepared a little bonfire, and everybody could try what's in a big can over it.

Later, I also enjoyed some food - the traditional Latvian black peas with meal. "Bralis" non-filtered beer was the top beer on this fest I liked at most.

The Latvian War Museum also presented the free entrance to the Latvian Beer Museum's exhibition of beer labels, where it was seen thoroughly the deep history of the Latvian beer.

But of course, the most exciting event of this Fest was Miss Latviabeerfest contest.

For the first even Miss Beer, there were pretending in total of 10 girls and women, which just came from the public. There was no special selection, nothing. Every girl or woman, older than 18 years, was invited.

Miss Beer was selected by series of contests, where she collected some scores. There were also 3 judges - fest's producers. The show was lead by the Latvian power-man Raimonds Bergmanis.

The first contest was about handling a 1L cup of beer in one hand, and the girl who won, hold it for about 2,5 minutes! Ok it looks simple - but try it out. I'm sure you won't be able to do it even for 1 minutes.

Latvian girls are strong!

The second contest was related to the ancient Latvian traditions. Girls walked in big wood shoes, trying to handle 5 glasses of beer at once. The winner was detected by time completion as well.

The contest #3 gave a bit more fun to the crowd. Girls must to select a man from the public, with the biggest stomach. That way some guys helped girls to collect points.

One of the girls chosen some wrestler from Norway, and his stomach was around 140 cm in circle. This man was quite happy by his form and showed it with pleasure to cameras. He was a temporary leader during "competition".

But it would be pity, if a man from Norway would win this contest! Fortunately, one of the Latvian "daddies" was more bigger in his stomach's circle - about 150 cm!

Well, Latvian men are strong, too!

The final contest was about holding cup of beer in one hand, and with the other hand trying to unbutton the shirt. On the pictures below, you can carefully watch all girls participating

I've noticed the winners at the very beginning, but wouldn't expect WHO wins this contest!

They are Elina and Simona who shared the second place and the Vice-Miss title, and I must say, they truly present the nature of the modern young Latvian girls, and they both are beautiful and natural.

Specially Elina, she was so free, sexy and hot! I've noticed she loves posing and she has everything to show up Simona, otherwise, impressed me with her very mild and bold shapes.

And the "Miss Latviabeerfest", was Kristine. I wouldn't truly say she was a "miss", rather "mistress" - but definitely, Kristine won in this contest by all scores.

But I can't pass the other girls on this fest. Some of them would really deserve the "miss" title by their beauty! Even serving girls from the food & drink points, were astonishingly beautiful.

Besides of it, there were quite a lot of nice and young girls around, to check and watch.

It seems, the beautiful girls love beer, too!

Not sure if they all are Latvian; there was definitely lots of tourists.

Besides of the young girls, there were also some sexy mommies...
