Norwegian tourist spent 11,000 Lats for champagne in a Riga striptease club

There was an incident which made me a lot of fun actually

When some Norwegian guy ended up his playing with strip girls, he was received a bill 11,000 Lats (about 16,000 Euros) worth and of course was negatively shocked, claiming it was fraud from the club owners. He didn't know the Riga's prices for champagne in clubs slightly differ from those offered in his country or even in local market shops. Sometimes it can be 100 times expensive. That was the exact case. When police studied the videotape record from this club (yes - you must know - EVERYTHING IS TAPED in Riga's striptease clubs for police needs!!), there was clearly visible that our hero is relaxing with eight girls at least, buying everybody on this nude bodies ship a French champagne bottle 700 Lats worth each. Additionally, he was watering champagne on the table and girls themselves. He did it twice in circles: girls were cute enough to party!

Make sure you know the real price when you dance with the girls.

Uf, suppose it's his own fault. If you want to have fund with 8 girls it is just fair to pay 16000. Anyway, I think it is justified since other customers had to watch him dancing

It's a disgrace. Why do you think the tourists don't come back to Riga. You scam them once and once only. I went into a normal bar and was charged 55Lats for three drinks. It's abouttime you people realised that scamming people is the result why your economy has gone down the toilet. You were ordered to cut your public budget by the IMF. You acted defiantly and the loan was refused. Now you have until 15 June to do as you are told or your country will not get the loan and you will be bankrupt.

For my part your country will suffer I willnot be opening a subsidiary company in your country with the loss of 72 jobs. Everywhere you go in Riga somebody is trying toscam you in some way.

Sack your tourist board chief and appoint someone who will clean up your filthy image in Riga. It's a shame for the genuine people but we certainly can't take the risk of losing our investment to fraudsters in your country.

lol.. looks like someone's not happy. The truth is- of course you gotta be aware of scam, what do you expect?? I've been to Latvia a few times (and a number of times to Eastern Europe) and my bills have never come even remotely close to these amounts. Though, maybe that's because I don't have the word "foreigner" tattooed all over my forehead. Let me give you a valuable piece of advice- if you can't handle it there, just throw a stag party at home.

"Make sure you know the real price when you dance with the girls." << the quote is priceless..

I would agree to highroller... if you come to London or other "European" city, the risk being scammed is similar everywhere. May be it's even higher in cities with population over 10 millions (in Riga, there is no even million available).

Just recently we have had the city councils elections over Latvia, and it seems there will be different politics run in the next years. At least we hope so. A secret to tell you - we don't need help from European loans, we can do it all ourselves. The method to survive is to change our thinking. Let's see how it goes...

You are so brave morons. Just go into our clubs and spend such money there. Then we'll see.

These places are all over the world in any city. But with normal cautiousness this won't be a problem. I thin the guy who spent the money in the strip club was very inexperienced. Maybe the first time in such a club. But it's sad because there are places that want to give good service and customer satisfaction and they will suffer...

I have heard this happening to other people, my friend got charged 300 euros for 3 beers in a strip club in switzerland... its going to happen anywhere if your not wise about these situations, im all for having fun and lapdancing clubs, but come on guys this is one place if you not careful that you will get ripped off, anywhere in the world(probably not in england though) there policy is far to strict!
