We have visited Latvia this summer, and after reading many topics here we decide to tell us a bit about public transport.
It's very bad in Latvia. First of all, buses are in bad condition. When travelling outside Riga (to Ludza or Valmiera for example) we were going about 3 hours in a bus without a conditioning system. There was about +27 outside and it was very uncomfortable.
In the pubic transport of Riga, which are past century Chezh trolleybuses and Eastern Europe trams (rarely - modern buses or how they call them,
marsh'rutka) there is often not clear where are you actually going. If they call the stops, they do it irregularly or wrong.
We were group of 15 people and decided to go to Lido, the famous place where you can eat Latvian national meals. They have messed up the titles of tram stops and we were dropped finally at the end of town.
Not very nice memories
