Eastern Latvia - Balvi

Hi,

I intend to spend some time exploring the east of the country, somewhere around the Balvi region. Does anyone know of any particular highlights? (apart from singing).

You might be wrong if you would like to follow the East and locate to Balvi. Balvi is not quite the East of Latvia, I would say it's more "nordic" region. Balvi itself is a very small and boring city, and even for tourists, it doesn't have anything particular to show up.

If you would like to follow "Slavic" roots of Latvia, which really are tied up with Eastern roots, visit Daugavpils. It's the 3rd largest city of Latvia, and if you are hungry for nice girls, you'll see them a lot there. Daugavpils girls have a passion to be fashionable using quite unusual dress, and they have something unique behind all of them.

Also, in the city itself, you will discover a lot of tourist objects, nice nature parks and lakes, night clubs and bars, and everything to spend life good and relax while being in the "East" of Latvia.
