(maybe there are better places but here are many foreigners and the entrance is for free and it is directly in the center/old town).

Unfortunately we're here not to reply each individually, but to answer common questions which also could be interesting for others. Forums are place where everybody can ask and get answered. It's not a private consulting bureau

Anyway, in Summer you definitely need to go to Jurmala (the Sea side) or Vecaki and spend more time walking by the city, or traveling elsewhere over Latvia. I don't know big shows for this time, as soon we have no big shows for now, because there is an economical crisis in the country.

Did you watch the movie "Angels and Demons"? If not, worth seeing if you would like to know more about ENGLISH. This is the language all open minded, revolutionary people spoke even in the ancient times, in opposite to Latin or any other primary European language those times (Italian or French).
