I don't know , its true for every latvian person , but i know some latvian people who writes "about" as "aboat", "very" as "wery" , why is it so? Is it just another spelling mistake or trend in Latvia?

You will wonder, but not only Latvians are making mistakes in English. I would say, if you meet Chinese or Asian people on board, most likely they will leave typos or make mistakes.

The question here is, does it really matter, and if so, then where exactly and what for does it matter? People can find the common language without paying attention to mistakes. The most important is to understand each other.

Your question sounds like you would be from the Latvian government carrying about the crystal clear Latvian language. They oppose that each Latvian citizen should write Latvian without grammatical mistakes. But this is dumb. Even in their native language, people often do mistakes. This is actually what destroyed Latvia from the inside.

Don't pay too much of attention to the mistakes regular people are doing. We all do mistakes.

So answering your question - I don't understand it. There are most of people which know English perfectly. Like me, he-he And there are people who doesn't know it at all, but would like to speak it and write it.

How the trend may be involved in that?..

okay i got it , these were just typos. Trend in the sense that sometimes I use shorthands like "u" for you , "r" for are and "frnd " for friend while chatting, so i thought may be these typos are some sort of mixture of latvian and english.
Considering your answer i think , most of the part was unnecessary ...

I was just brainstorming about a global question. English is not the major language on Earth, and is not the spoken language in Latvia at all. That's why it sounds surprising that any kind of "Latvian trend" could be related to English, in general.

English is the second most speaking language in the world , then what do you mean by "English is not the major language on Earth "?

This is what I mean, it's not the major. Chinese is the major. Spanish stands really closely to English in usage.

So those spelling mistakes better may be skipped It's not so important.

I don't even think this is relevant, I've travelled a bit and there are several countries, where I could not communicate in English, let alone have a decent conversation. I think the more you focus on our spelling mistakes the more you lessen your chances of Latvians really speaking to you...we're weird like that!

Chinese might have the most speakers, but that's only because of the massive population of China. Spanish speakers are largely concentrated in Latin America. English, however, is the lingua franca. It's used worldwide as the language of business and other things, at least in regards to international dealings. For example, the people here with varying native languages are using it to communicate, as a common language.

However, as a consequence of the worldwide influence, it's not at all a logical language. It's very easy to make mistakes and confuse words. It's not uncommon for even native speakers to misuse words like they're/there/their.

I think, almost half of Europe by population speaks Spanish

I don't deny the part of the English language. As you may notice, this website is in English, too. That's because English-understanding auditory in Internet is the biggest one.

But that doesn't mean for the whole planet. That's what I try to say. The places you visit and know about, are not the only places on Earth. There are lots of places where nobody understands English, and that's purely fine. You can't make the language which misuses words, an absolute language on Earth.
