ITES industry in Latvia

Hi there!

You must be right - Latvia is one of the most progressive countries in IT sphere, not just in Baltic states - I believe, in Europe, too. We have the Internet connection speed in TOP10 of the world - it's truly fast and cheap! You rather won't find such speeds in Europe by such low prices. I believe nowadays almost any young-to-middle-age family in Latvia has Internet plugged at home; schools, companies, businesses... it's all there. We also have very comfortable climatic conditions to work in IT - for example, in Spain or Italy there are no such conditions because of the hot weather, which doesn't allow lots of thinking when there's lots of sun and heat outside

But before you study culture and language... may be it would be better to study Latvian economic principles? Are you ready to pay up to 40% in taxes from your profits? Or are you ready mostly to hide your profits and create a "black" profit instead?

There may be many official organisations which support co-operation between Latvia and India, but I believe they are not truly for regular people or small businesses, but mostly for these world's "bosses".

I also think, the IT market is overloaded these days in Latvia. Many young specialists do not prefer to work here for pennies, because salaries are truly low. Most likely if you are up to interest them with good salaries, working conditions and social safety, they would go to India or Asia with pleasure. But I doubt on that. Europe, Canada and US are the most exciting countries for our IT specialists so far, because Asian and Indian markets are overloaded with "young specialists", too. I only think, the quality of such specialists really differs from the European professionals ;) That's why most likely you are looking to find somebody here... but you must know: the young generation will not work for free for you anymore, like it was 10-15 years ago. The times are changing fast, requirements, too.

Hi all, My name is "Swain" I am a 26 year male from India, and I run my own ITES company(Pratibha Group of companies) in India and also in Asia (Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Srilanka, Nepal). I am looking to expand my business in a new direction, (a new branch in Latvia) in the Jan (2013), and considering Latvia, along with a couple more Baltic and Eastern European countries. All I know about Latvia, it holds a good future in economy and ITES industry. I like the fact that Latvia is business friendly country, and one can find young and educated Latvian people, and want to requite Latvian people and providing them a training in India(Known as World IT hub) . Why am I here? I believe a better ITES growth can be done in Latvia and I also think it is important to get to know an understand the Latvian people. Language issues, cultural issues etc. The best way to find out about this, I think, is by interacting socially, with real Latvians. I also got many information from Indo-Latvian chamber of commerce- a Joint venture of both Indian and Latvian Government So any one can please suggest me whether it is good to start a ITES industry in Latvia or if My company will requite Latvian people will they like to work in countries Like....INDIA or in ASIA.....????????
