Renting a house

I will study in Riga in september. So i interested in about living. I want to rent a house. How much does it cost?

It depends on the area where you would like to rent it, the quality of the building, square meters... on many aspects actually. We have the largest advertising board of private persons called ss.lv - there you may study prices, conditions, areas... but it's available only in Latvian & Russian. If you want more infos, I can give them to you.

Overall, the average price for a house, I think, starts from about 500 EUR / month. You can find something even for 300 EUR, but it will be far away from the capital and probably not in the best conditions. But by September, the prices may go down a bit. Good luck.

The best time to visit Riga is when you want to visit it! Surely if you do not prefer snow and cold, or rainy times, choose May-September as the best period.

you may check Hostel Prima, it is not in a very good neighbourhood but first times I came to Latvia I spent there it was quite good and cheap like 7-10 euros per night and you may even have a single room with this price.

I would also suggest to stay in hostel prima cuz most of international students come and stay there first, so it is quite fun a lot of parties there and after 1 semester you may move to a flat with some new friends you met. Also renting flat in Riga summer time is a lot cheaper, heating is quite expensive here
