Hi again Yuta - I'm from a very small part of the United Kingdom - that is Northern Ireland. Can can you tell me why someone should come onto my little message box and post lots of pics of some Chinese woman in various states of dress??? hahaha

Not sure why they appeared here most probably because spammers love to post to the first message appearing on the forum!

Ok, so you are not from that part people from Latvia being mostly migrated to, right?..
What's kind of living is there on this Island? Are there the same salaries as in London, big UK cities? What kind of weather is there? Curious to know 'cause I never was there

Regarding spammers - I guess some people have nothing better to do with their time! Yes - although Northern Ireland doesn't have as many foreign people moving to it, there are increasing numbers finding a home here. Some from Latvia, Romania, Russia and mostly from Poland. We are, as I am sure you know, a full part of the United Kingdom, and as such wages for people are much the same as Scotland, England and Wales, with the exception of some key cities like London, where wages would be higher, but also would have a higher cost of living. Wages for example would be - if someone in Latvia earns about 300 Lats per month, they could expect to earn at least £300 per week here. Rental for a house would be roughly £400 per month - so if two people were to come over and earn two wages, it could be financially rewarding! Our weather would not be as extreme as Latvia, with milder summers and winters. We do get plenty of rain!! And people here are always complaining about it! hahaha. Generally mild, but wet! and some good days during the summer. Minus 5 or 10 is cold in the winter.

I've got your private message... well, I didn't send an answer because you covered it all
I was in UK many times (just wasn't on the Island side) and know what the weather is about... in general, my husband loves such type of weather, not me

£400 per week - wow! I think you may rent a house in Latvia for about 200 LVL/month (not truly in Riga or the seaside, but it's possible to find).

Other than that, interesting infos, thanks!

You are welcome! I was in Latvia recently visiting friends from Riga to Balvi. I found the level of wages very low, and quite often the living accommodation of a poor standard. I suppose that is true of many places. Life is tough for those living in the countryside

You are right. Even living in the largest city of Latvia, I am not satisfied. Countryside in Latvia... fresh air, lots of space, green. And very poor lands

I have been asked what I think of Latvia. I told people its like a new born country, with a lot of growing up to do. There is a long way to go, and much has to be spent on infrastructure. But after so long under Soviet rule, the only way is up. I don't think your country should be in any great hurry to embrace entrance into the Euro. It - in my opinion, would be like replacing Russian rule with rule from Germany and France!
