Creating a new topic is easy:
1) Think carefully, what kind of topics you are going to create. Is it a question? Would it be useful for somebody else? We accept only seriously thought-off topics.
2) Determine the subject of your topic. It's like when you write email to somebody specifying it's subject. Subject is couple of words about what you are going to post.
3) Choose the appropriate
forum to create topic in, clicking on its title (for example, on the 1st page click forum titles marked
bold on the right side of the page). Choose the forum appropriate to your topic's subject. For example, if you have a question related to your own or somebody's other life question, click the forum
Experience. If you have some nice photos to show, go to
Pictures forum. If you are going to visit Latvia and/or would like to know something about its places - ask in "
Visiting Latvia". Introduce yourself under
Introductions, or post
anything else.
2) Locate
"Post New Topic" link at the top menu of forums, or go directly to the bottom of topics listing to locate the New Topic form.
For example, if you love Bill Gates and under Windows, hit Ctrl+Page Down btn.
You are allowed to create a new topic in any forum except "
Archive" which is used for read-only and reply-only purposes.
3) In "Topic title", specify the subject of your question or posting.
IMPORTANT: The subject MUST reflect the content of the post! We ask you to take your time to create good and relevant subjects of your posts. Topic titles are one of the most important elements of qualified forum discussions. A good subject/topic title should be unique and precisely reflect the content of the message. It should not contain unnecessary words, special characters, or fluff. A good title should be straightforward, short, and to the point; the reader should be able to determine what the topic is about by reading a topic title only.
4) In "Message" field, post the the full and wide text of your posting, but not over limit our patience in reading it. That means, your text could consist of few paragraphs, but not few pages of text. On the other hand, it should be meaningful. We require that you post
at least 20 characters (4-5 meaningful words). Users which post a meaningfulness content, may be blocked by our administration with no prior warning. If you have nothing to say except posting a smiley or one-word sentence, try to avoid doing so.
5) If you have an account on our forums, specify your Username and Password information before sending your post, in the fields above the Message area.
6) Click "Preview" button to preview your message before posting. It will open a pop-up window where your message will be presented in the same form as it will appear on forums.
7) If everything is allright, click "Post Topic" button. You are done!
