In addition to the
above message, I've read above QS University Rankings today. There you may
discover which countries have the world's strongest higher education systems, and there's no Latvia even in Top 50 list. From the Baltic states, only Estonia deserved the position #49.
If you check
rankings by region, specifically
Emerging Europe & Central Asia, you will find that the top 3 positions are taken by universities from Russia. University of Tartu (Estonia) takes position #5,
University of Latvia is located only on the position #49, Riga Technical University is #64, Riga Stradiņš University is somewhere between #111-120.
I must say, those are not really great results for Latvia at all. Universities from the other Baltic states, resp. Estonia and Lithuania, take higher ranks in this ratings.
All foreign students must study this rating before asking questions like "What's the best place to study in Latvia" or "If I will get a good job after studying in Latvia"
