If I want to go to Latvia,my plan is to earn enough money to buy two apartments in Latvia before coming here(one is for rented, and another is reserved for me).

Then you must earn somewhere else, the average salary in Latvia doesn't go beyond EUR 700/month, 80% of usual workers get even less - EUR 500/m is the top salary for them. And retards/pensioners get their pension equal to about 200-250 EUR/m. This is to say, all prices are the same or even higher than in Europe. And after Latvia comes to EURO next year (2014), prices will get even more higher... so you must earn somewhere else, but spend this money in Latvia

Regarding apartments - I would recommend to rethink your dream May be it would be better to get two little houses... Mostly 90% of All apartment-based living houses in Latvia, were built in USSR times, resp. 60-80ies. They are outdated and need reconstruction. But Latvian people just do have nothing else to choose. All that new houses built in the recent years, take may be 2-3% of the market. And they are very expensive - for 50,000 EUR you may buy may be a little 40-50 square meters apartment with a very basic indoor, and in a very dirty district of Riga. Count on at least 100,000-150,000 EUR for buying a so-so solid apartment in Riga. In Soviet house, you may buy 3-rooms apartment of 50-60 sq.m., fully refurbished, and it may cost even less than 50,000 EUR - in Riga's districts like Vecmilgravis, Bolderaja or Kengarags, the prices for it may be even lower. As about other Latvian cities, prices for old apartments are this time low. For about 10,000 EUR you could buy 1-room apartment in cities like Daugavpils or Rezekne. Venstpils is located by the sea, but prices there are mostly similar to Riga's.

Real estate prices went down the past couple of years after crisis. In the "paradise" times for Latvia, resp. 2006-2009, apartments were more expensive than in Las Islas Canarias or Caribbeans... nobody knows for how long times these low prices will stay, take your chance while they all are not taken by black men

P.S. I recommend to check ss.lv website - real estate section - it's in Latvian only, but it may give you some points on prices, also there could be some pictures posted and so on...

Girls would preper landlord in Shanghai,I think. If they would,I would strive to be.

Honestly speaking, I would never choose Shanghai or some other city for constant living... even Riga seems overloaded to me, despite it lost at least 30% of population in the last 20 years of Latvian "independence"... it's still too busy and dirty, but what can I do it's my native city and family, business, friends are all here....

wang: thank you for very detailed answer on learning Chinese

I know there is a Chinese saying.
"If you wake up too late, your day is lost. If you don't learn while being young, your life is lost."
It is very good you are learning new things. I am sure you will find your Girl sooner or later!

Compared to apartments in Shanghai, the apartments in Latvia are really not that expensive, then could you tell me if I want to buy a 100 square meter apartment in Riga or at the coast and buy a villa in the suburb, how much money should I need?In addition,I prefer new house but old house.

As to the dirty district in Riga,my opinion is as follows. You see,Riga is not Paris or London which has been half occupied by blacks. So I don't think I would see something horrible as I have seen in Paris.Wow,I pray that there's no blacks in Riga, otherwise I really have to reconsider my original 'dream'. I think you can understand me,for nobody want to live in an area full of jazz, rock, rap, fucking, noise and smelly bromhidrosis. However,as I know,if you go beyond Brandenburg and further east, you would rarely see them.

Thank you

Oh well, they are very different meanings!

At the coast, you would pay 2x-3x times bigger prices than in the city of Riga.

Riga is actually not located by the sea. The seaside is called Jurmala. And the prices there are really high, as rich people from Russia have "occupied" this district since USSR times.

Also, the opposite to Jurmala seaside, there are few smaller cities and not so "prestigious", but still, prices are high there. I mean sites like Carnikava, Saulkrasti (*), Lilaste.

Ok, do you want the new appartment in Jurmala? Here is the first ad I found, see the pictures below. It's a new 4-floors house in Bulduri, 122 sq.m., 3 rooms, fully furnished. The price is about 350,000 EUR.

You will rather not find a completely new house. Latvia is not a huge market of this term, where developers build houses for sale. Most likely, any house being sold is "used". However, there are lots of houses in a good conditions.

Example is below. The house (you may call it 'villa') is located in Baltezers, from about 8 km to the sea and 5 km to the river. It has everything to feel a great man. If you would own such a house, you would find a supermodel girl to live next to you The price is about 1 400 000 EUR.

Like anywhere in the world, you can see blacks in Riga. But not too often by now. You could even know all of them in face they are too rare these times...and surely there are no "black distrcits" so far (most likely all Riga is divided to "slavic" and "latvian" disctricts).

But who knows, what it will be next year after Latvia joins Euro zone...

That's the disvantage of Latvia joining in EN, right? I firmly believe that after Latvia join in EU at the 100th anniverary of the breakup of WW1, increasing blacks would flock into clean and untouched Latvia I love, then the same thing would happen consequensely as follows:
Blacks would show off their big advantage and touch angels whom I store in dream;
White-Black mixture begun, it would pruduce a mixed continent like former Spanish colinizations where beautiful and sacred angels are hard to seek.
The impression of EU and USA leave on me is that they would export blacks into any nation follows them. In addition,I don't think EU would treat Latvia kindly.Core nations in EU would only take care of their own benefits while at the same time they would only treat Latvia as a source of labor and sluts.

I think I really have to reconsider my dream. I am not sure whether I can get high-paid if I go for IT in Latvia. If I stay in Shanghai, there would be a promising future for engineering is greatly needed for the development in China. After all,the cost compared to income in Latvia really sounds a little expensive, and if I work in Latvia, I would not have enough money resevered for buying apartments, which means that if I really settle down in Latvia,I and my future child cannot go back to Shanghai just because of the fact that I don't earn so much that I couldn't buy apartments in Shanghai(I dislike to rent house for living), let alone leave many apartments to my future child. There's a great gap between the apartment prices of these two cities. However,Latvian girl is also my dream.

I think if one person works in Latvia, the most terrible for him is to accumulate enough money to buy apartments.

Finally,I want to ask that if I get 179,550 EUR, what kind of apartments could I get?
In addition, how about 59,850 EUR?

Thank you

You must be right on that. Latvian government already obeys the EU parliament and directives. In many aspects it already treated that way.

As I know, some places are already prepared for refugees from Africa and Syria, for example.

It is inevitable that Latvia, sooner or later, will be flooded with foreigners, and they all won't be sort of "high quality", because having such large strategic territory for relatively small amount of people would mean impossibility to protect and handle it properly; so Latvians will need slaves...

wang:

Latvia is full of IT-related workers, but they are not paid well neither. Having no experience, you may possibly get the same 500 EUR/m, and that would be "black money", i.e. some of the official taxes wouldn't be paid. Getting 1000 EUR/m on hand would work only for relatively professional, unbeatable workers - and truly, that's a rare case...

wang:

This is true. Young people are all up to taking loans, and they are expensive in paying.
However I have mentioned most "great-valued" and fetish examples of properties. They are rarity, similarly like millionaires in Latvia are Mostly, an average-cost apartment in the old-USSR-build house would cost you not more than 40,000 EUR, and that would be quite a possible place to live (but it wouldn't be completely new, refurbished and so on).

180,000 EUR is quite a great price to get something new and fresh, closely to the center of Riga or even Old Riga. But for this price and in this prices range, it won't come fully furnished and most likely you will need to get some extra things like flooring. Check the example below.

For you like a foreigner, it would be very preferable to buy something in "plug and play" style You won't find a professional which could help you in this.

It's interesting that this post is still going on. I think I was here a month ago.

I am also a Chinese, and I am in the United States for school. When I was around 7 years old, one day when I was watching TV, I saw Latvia. It was about a 7 year-old Latvian girl's life; she's blonde and she lives in a house with a a very peaceful life. She's so gorgeous and I immediately liked Latvia. After that I didn't pay too much attention towards Latvia, but the beautiful girl's face was eternally engraved in my mind. Yes, being an Asian, I do think white people are more physically attractive than us.

Two days ago, Latvia had a soccer match with Japan. I was a solid fan for Japan soccer, so it reminded me of my affection with Latvia. I know probably people around east Europe all look like the same. But I just had a preference to Latvia and Ukraine.

Even though there are white people around me all over the place, and I actually communicate with them freely, I still think Latvia has some magic power that intrigues me. I know Latvian is probably a hard language to understand, but I will keep my hope that one day I will get a chance to visit Latvia.

Do people in Latvia speak English? Or at least have a basic understanding?

When we planned this site, it looked promising to find partners speaking English... but as you see, those speaking English rather interested in harvesting potatoes in UK than answering guys who are mostly not enlighten in English... but I'm wondering exactly guys/boys from China know it very well! specially comparing to those mostly posting on this board (using auto-translators and so on...) it's a surprise for me personally

We are not excellent than potatoes, so it's reasonable that we concede failure and girls make their choice. However, it's not my personality to surrender, one day I would conqure girls in the same way potatoes do.

In previous days, many Chinese girls also crush on us in this way.HaHa,That's why I hold my hatred to read every book, pass every exam and make any progress. Wow,it's more exhilaterating to revenge through your effort. Sometimes love amounts to war, glory or humiliation, which is totally up to you.

Just await

English is a pivot part of our study; To some degree,it's our second mother tongue. As regard to this,we just feel that our English level is very limited. After all,if we want to win over USA, firstly we have to learn their knowledge and get first-hand information which is completely written in English, then we could make some innovation and refinement based on their technology and our IQ;At last,we could have our own system of technology.

Certainly I think Latvian boys also think in this way and that's the reason why they learn English, not only for passing the exam.
