I'm wondering if that is NOT what China does right now?

Since all of the modern technologies ALL are mostly produced in China, they are very accessible to analyze and transform them onto the "chinese level". But IMHO this kind of "copying" things in Chinese manner is catching the world for already more than 15 years (as I remember...), but still... only the last years we begin to notice that the thing which is purely produced in China, even if it's nature and origin is copied from somewhere, could be called "average" in quality. In Latvia, you would rather not find a person who would be impressed by the quality of Chinese goods. Even things made in Vietnam or Malaysia often stand more better in quality.

But the Chinese things have one desperate advantage: they are cheap. And this comes ONLY because you have workers ready to spend their lives for $5/day hardly working let's say for Foxconn. And THIS is mostly because you have >1 milliard in population.

Do you seriously think that it's possible to educate ALL of these people to the level of knowledge Europeans or Americans have? I doubt so. Specially in the political system where you are quite limited in getting knowledge, where many social / open mind websites like Facebook or Youtube are forbidden, or where you simply get misinformed by the knowledge coming "from the top". Trust me - I have personally passed this all in USSR times; our generation actually is called "lost", because we were born on the edge of the Red and the Blue and only most desperate were able to survive; and these days, many of our generation understand, that we have changed one devil (USSR) to another one (EU); oh well, Devil has changed the color, but not the nature... so I know about all those slavery and misinformation things...

I guess, in time you will understand that it's too early to call nation a winner just because "you" thought it must be true; but you were just one from milliard... what would such a chance mean in casino - relatively nothing!


Oh My God, it's TOO BAD with clever boys in this country, I believe most of them knowing English well, are already living in English-native countries, because they have moved Many boys found their exit in alcohol, that's why Latvia has too less professionals these days...

I was meaning agricultural works, which most of Latvians are going for to UK. Or at least "dirty jobs" which are not on top of prestige for British themselves

It's hard to convince of me the fact that well- educated Latvians are willing to be labor in another nation.Since the population density is very low in Latvia, then the educational resources could be divided to almost everybody, why there are still labours?

Knowledge on Facebook or Youtube are not that 'useful' at least in my view.When it comes to China,they always talk about how China do new colonization in Tibet, Xinjiang and Africa(I am proud of it) ,plus human rights nonsense and son on. It's always artificial of western media to talk about human rights or human affection, for I could ensure that thay have never done little of them.

If I would become the premier of China,I would value technical, economical and other useful knowledge but nonsense such as affection or their artificial affection.

I hold no objection about Chinese government isolationg us from outer Internet world,only if tthey never block 'practical and useful information'--what my study and work need--that's enough.

But how could you know that you are not isolated from this part of knowledge as well?
My circle of friends consists almost of all persons have grown in "USSR sunset" times.
They all could be sure by that times, communistic education has been at the lowest level possible. Actually they were not educated for something - they were told things they never can prove or object. They were grown as robots, and only few of them were powerful enough to gain the "proper" knowledge which NOW helps in their lives - and that was about Internet, social media, possibility to communicate with various people from all over the world, not meaning "hello how are you" communication method... free world some way helped this people to distinguish their lives.


This is also why I would ask you - who told you about well-educated Latvians?

Education in Latvia is very weak. It's mostly for local market; but those persons standing "above" the standards of education, leave Latvia for better life and recognition they could get here for themselves...

If what you said is true, I have to hesitate whether I should let my future child receive education in Latvia or not. Fundemental education is very vital in your engineering career; My personnal feeling is that if you want to learn communicaion engineering well That's also what I study), firstly you should know Calculus, Linear Algebra and some other kinds of Maths,which requires your solid fundemental of Maths that you have learnt in your High school(it's called pre-Calculus in USA).My future child have to be at least at the same level as me in terms of study, so it's really something how to educate your child to be excellent.

Those skills you have referred to are not that necessary in your life, right? In China, technical and scientific books in almost every field written by wesrern experts could be found. When I acqiure knowledge in those books, I don't feel I am isolated from the outside world. The main use of Internet is to help you in your work and major and is there any point in concerning with social media which you cannot change at all and have little influence on your life? The most efficient thing someone should do now is to consider his own income and working ability plus his girlfriend but distant news.

However, when it comes to comminuication people worldwide, it's really a problem. The image of foreigners in our mind are usually created by 'the top'

I'm afriad "Internet" takes the leading role of "common" in that case. Somewhere, you've read this and you've read that... and mixed all this up to have a common knowledge you're sure is true... but you may be wrong on that!.. This is how the Internet in common formed your opinion...


As I wrote previously, I think you must pass through about ten of years before getting to the proper knowledge of seeing what your kids must be about. It's just the question of time.

I don't want to blame or judge you on it; but sooner or later, you will know your kids must be different. Maths is just a knowledge you've got from books written by ancient philosophers; social communication in 21st century varies a lot from the communication of let's say 10th century. And we have all tools for that; so that would be really an "ancient" thinking to deny technologies our ancestors build for us to get to the higher points....

Nope, it's definitely NOT of how your child will be going to be educated in social school or highschool! It's about another term... at least this is what I'm trying to give to my own children... not to teach them Descartes maths, but give them truly what they need... that's a question of big time, and patience, and your own consciousness - and it all is NOT related to books you're teach by, in any way...


Exactly, THOSE modern skills take much importance in my life than Descartes maths. You see, I am not up to maths at all (I've never been to it in school age); but I know how to deal with mobile phone or iPad or standalone computer (mostly that's why those Admins from these forums took me into "team" of supporters, he-he ). And these tools actually help me to grow up. I may understand you and all those "old-school" people aroung me SAYING this or that WAS perfect sometimes; and lying to this... but not me. I'm born to USE this stuff; to use it for SOMETHING even more bigger than you could imagine... at least, I may not get to it in time, since it requires time; but I may get my kids or society around me to get to it even closer... this is how we develop the Human Society in total; this is how we must care about it - not being old-school, but handling onto the things we MUST perceive properly IN A TIME they came in...


It seems you're really at the VERY beginning point of knowledge and I wish you good luck to develop it further properly... only God knows who you WILL be in 30 years and HOW it would affect the whole world - but I have a feeling, if you've came to THESE forums and created THE BIGGEST thread in all times on these forums coming from a Chinese foreigner - THEN you have all chances to change or even save this world; but you MUST take a proper path to it, and I'm afraid you must do it in the very closest time possible....

Wang, there is a root word inside the word "believe"... and it is LIE.... so all this knowledge about income, working ability and a girlfriend - it all comes from the world around you; but the world around you doesn't mean a WORLD... you need time to understand it was not right at all...

I have being impressed by the way this conversation going on after reading 6 pages and got an idea and how open you are expression your thoughts which surprised me and I am happy to read Yuta .
